We know when we are moving!

Yes! We finally made a decision! It's official, we mailed in our deposit today. As of May 1st, we will have a home in Houston!!! When Jeff and I flew to Houston last fall we went appartment shopping and found where we wanted to live. So we have known for a while where we wanted to live, but just hadn't decided when to move. Yay for making big life decisions! Here are some pictures of our future home! Yes, our future appartment complex has a Texan star on the front... I'm not sure I'll get used to that Texas pride.

The appartment complex has several beautiful courtyards with two giant pools (I don't know if it will ever get hot enough to need a pool)

Valentines Day Part 2

First project with my new sewing machine! I bought this fabric maybe two years ago with the plan to finish the edges and use for a tablecloth. Now that I finally have a machine I completed this project just in time for the big day!

Valentine's was wonderful! This was our 2nd valentines together, so Jeff got me 2 roses! He also surprised me with delicious See's chocolates! my all-time favorite!

My 3-year old nephew sent us these make-a-dinosaur valentines in the mail! Aren't they adorable?! (Thanks Jessica!)

Of course I had to cook Jeff some fancy treats! For breakfast I made him strawberry crepes, and for dinner I made his favorite meal: egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. Then to finish it off, my mom's traditional cherry meringue dessert!

After our wonderful dinner, Jeff took me to a divine comedy show. It was HILLARIOUS!!! I laughed so hard all night long! Report on the talks

I was really nervous in the morning as I was refining my talk, but once we got to church everything was okay. We ended up having 2 baby blessings that day so both Jeff and I had to cut down our talks, but both of us still did really well.

Here's a little snippet from Jeff's talk that I just loved

CUPCAKES!!!

I have been excited to make valentine's day cupcakes for a month now!

In preparation for the grand cupcake-making date, I bought valentine's spinkles and cupcake liners, the Wilton cupcake decorating set- that came with some new cake decorating tips that I have been drooling over everytime I go to Michaels and walk down the cake decorating aisle, AND the wilton cupcake stand!!!! I have been joking with Jeff for a few months now about this stand. You see, I don't actually like to eat cupcakes that much, and neither does Jeff. But somehow I convinced Jeffrey that if I used my 50% off michaels coupon on it and I would use it for parties and such that I could buy it! YEA! Cupcake party anyone??

How did we solve the not liking cupcakes very much problem after the big date? We gave them away to our friends!!! Well, the pretty ones at least.

Sewing Queen

For a wedding present my mom wanted to get me a sewing machine. After much online research, I have finally made a decision on which sewing machine to get! Allow me to introduce...

Isn't it beautiful?! I am in love with it! Jeff and I bought it on Wednesday. I have not had enough time to play with all the amazing features (due to an upcoming talk in church- which is coming along well- I'm not panicking any more!) but, let me brag for a minute about the my favorite feature so far: the button hole maker! For anyone who sews, they know button holes can be a bit of a pain. This machine has a one-step button hole maker that is so simple! You attatch the button hole foot, set your button in the foot so it can measure how big the hole needs to be, and then start! Yea! Now I just need to decide what projects I will start first!
