Weekend with the sisters

While my sisters were visiting us here in Texas we drove up to Kingwood with the hopes of swimming. Sadly, the water was too cold to enjoy so we just lounged around the pool soaking up the sunshine. Our niece and nephew were staying over so Christine got to hang out with her cousins too.

Visitors

Last week my sisters flew from Utah to visit us!

Christine loved all the extra attention, and I enjoyed hanging out with my sisters for the weekend.

The Throne

Almost all of my baby stuff is borrowed from my awesome sister-in-law. One such item is our baby papasan infant seat. I never would have bought one of these, having doubts about its usefulness. Let me you, I was wrong! This chair is Christine's favorite.

She loves to take naps in it, she loves to just lounge and suck on her binky in it, or just sit and stare at us enjoying her elevated view and reclined position. When we first set her in the chair, she immediately got comfortable by stretching out her arms, looking much like a princess in a throne dictating her whims. After which we began calling the chair her princess throne.

Yes, definitely a princess.

When I compare these pictures, I can't believe how much Christine has grown!!

Studying

One Month Old

Christine is one month old! I can't believe it's already been a month.

I still feel like we are in survival mode right now. We don't get much sleep and the house is a mess. But I am feeling better, my stitches are almost healed and rarely hurt me now, my mastitis is gone, my feet are shrinking back down to their normal size (I was able to wear a pair of high heels yesterday!) and my stomach is slowly becoming less pudgy.

Christine is so beautiful, even at 3 in the morning when she screaming for milk.

She loves to sleep with her hands stretched out. I think it's adorable.

They say babies' smiles aren't "social" until they are about 2-3 months old, and any smile they give before that point is merely the result of passing gas. I choose to deny this and would prefer, instead, to imagine she is dreaming of the day she will finally get chocolate milk instead of plain mommy milk.

GiGi's Birthday

We've been having fun this week. Christine is sleeping better at night (knock on wood). I've been feeling MUCH better. The Dr. gave me the clear to drive again, so Christine and I took our first solo drive this morning. While feeding Christine I get to watch Grey's Anatomy season 6 (I love instant streaming on Netflix!). And best of all, on Monday we got to play with GiGi on her birthday!

I can't help but laugh at Christine's facial expressions in these photos.

Three Weeks Old

Jeff took his tests this past week and thinks that he passed. Phew! That was hard. I developed mastitis the day before Jeff's Renal test so Jeff had to take me to the doctor instead of studying. Then he had to take care of Christine the whole day because I couldn't. Thankgoodness he's so dang smart. As for the mastitis, I'm taking antibiotics and feeling better already.

 Christine is doing great, her umbilical cord fell off (finally) and she loves to stare at herself in a mirror which means her eyes are developing well.

Thanks Ali for the cute outfit and the awesome playmat! Christine loves to hang out on it.
