Craft Sickness

For about 2 months now I have been suffering from craft fever

Activities that put a person at risk of getting the disease:

• Seeing some of my awesome co-worker's at Heritage and even some of the clients crocheting beautiful afghans.
• Obtaining 50% off coupons for Michael's and Joann's
• 2 months of free sewing classes that came with the purchase of my beautiful Bernina Bernett (Every Saturday for 2 hours I have been learning how to use my machine, and I have learned that my sewing machine is AWESOME!!!
• Discovering the world of craft blogs! (Did you notice the list of craft links that appeared on my blog a few weeks ago?)
• Running into craft magazines at the store like Craft n' Things, Quilts and More, Crochet Today etc.
• Going to the library and checking out every book on crochet and softie making.
• Discovering that the library also carries past issues of aforementioned craft magazines- and putting as many as I can get on the ol' library card

Symptoms of the craft fever:

First symptom: A simple washcloth to see if I remember how to crochet

Jeff suspects that nothing is wrong at the this point in time

Then I crocheted a cozy for my cell phone (to disguise it in my purse since cell phones were supposed to be left in cars at work- but every time I left it in my car I would forget it and Jeff would have to run out to the car after we went to bed to retreive my cell phone/alarm clock!)

But then my ipod became jealous of my cell phone

I can't play favorites!

At this point the symptoms grew out of control and I had to admit- I had craft fever.

This disease may be chronic, so the only thing Jeff can do now is to ignore it or acept it

Nameless cupcake has a friend! But he was sent to live in Cedar City where he spends his time golfing and hanging out with Ashley at SUU. His new home is more loving than his first. He even got a name...Hammer!

What am I going to do?? Not only is this disease chronic, I fear it is contagious! I spent this weekend in Layton with my family for general conference and my sister Jessica and I sewed tote bags together and then she she started crocheting a banket! Sorry Jessica. I guess you are doomed.

Books on CD

Jeff and I have been talking about what we are going to do to keep ourselves sane during our three day car ride as we move to Texas, and we decided it would be awesome to listen to some books on CD. The problem is, what do we listen to? We need to find books that neither of us have read before, but know that the book will be interesting enough to keep us entertained. Both of us have wanted to read the Chronicles of Narnia since the movies have come out so we decided that would be a good one to listen to. Today, I went to the library and checked out three of the books and am now converting them to MP3 so we can listen to them on my ipod. However, I am thinking that we are both going to get bored of Narnia after several long hours... does anyone have some good suggestions for books to listen to?

Smarty Pants Hubby

I just HAVE to brag about my amazing husband! We just found out today that Jeff is the Valedictorian for the Neuroscience department at BYU for the class of 2009!! How awesome is that?

We know when we are moving!

Yes! We finally made a decision! It's official, we mailed in our deposit today. As of May 1st, we will have a home in Houston!!! When Jeff and I flew to Houston last fall we went appartment shopping and found where we wanted to live. So we have known for a while where we wanted to live, but just hadn't decided when to move. Yay for making big life decisions! Here are some pictures of our future home! Yes, our future appartment complex has a Texan star on the front... I'm not sure I'll get used to that Texas pride.

The appartment complex has several beautiful courtyards with two giant pools (I don't know if it will ever get hot enough to need a pool)

Valentines Day Part 2

First project with my new sewing machine! I bought this fabric maybe two years ago with the plan to finish the edges and use for a tablecloth. Now that I finally have a machine I completed this project just in time for the big day!

Valentine's was wonderful! This was our 2nd valentines together, so Jeff got me 2 roses! He also surprised me with delicious See's chocolates! my all-time favorite!

My 3-year old nephew sent us these make-a-dinosaur valentines in the mail! Aren't they adorable?! (Thanks Jessica!)

Of course I had to cook Jeff some fancy treats! For breakfast I made him strawberry crepes, and for dinner I made his favorite meal: egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. Then to finish it off, my mom's traditional cherry meringue dessert!

After our wonderful dinner, Jeff took me to a divine comedy show. It was HILLARIOUS!!! I laughed so hard all night long!
